Welcome to Evening Sun vineyard……….
Evening Sun Vineyard is the smallest vineyard in Davidson County, North Carolina. We are about 32 miles from Greensboro and 25 miles from Winston Salem, North Carolina. Our plan is to have our own vineyard and which we started in 2009. This land grew wheat, barley, corn, Milo & soy-beans in the 70’s.
We have 1.5 acres of grapes that consist of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. They are French-American Hybrid grapevines. Our vineyard size allows us to maintain both day jobs and keep the vineyard going at the same time. And hopefully, in the next three years, it will yield between three and four tons of grapes.
Perhaps it could produce up to 1000 bottles of finished wine easily. We ordered our grafted grapevines from a well know nursery in New York. So far they are doing well.
We can be contact by email eveningsun@eveningsunvineyard.com, please give us three to five days to respond.
Thank you for visit our site,

At last, first part of pruning is completed. We started pruning in early February and completed it the first week of March. We removed all of the old canes from last year in order for the grape vines to be ready for the new season. We cut them off one by one until all were pruned. Now we are waiting for the second stage of pruning in mid-spring. We will be pruning spurs to maximize the growth of the vineyard. We will leave between six and eight shoots per cane. Second stage pruning is a lot easier than cane pruning. We will use small clippers to complete the process. Growing grapes is very rewarding experience.
